Journal -- Day 28 -- Page 2

Bill and Barbara Windsor's trip 'Round America covered 50 states and over 2,500 towns.
This Daily Journal provides the daily itinerary and captures experiences, observations, towns, sights, and more.

Frederick's of Hollywood Building. Galleria Hollywood  shopping area. Hollywood and Vine.
Hollywood Toys & Costumes is a lot of fun to see. Pat of Hollywood Toys & Costumes. President Bush mask at Hollywood Toys & Costumes.
The new Kodak Theatre. One of several L. Ron Hubbard Church of Scientology buildings on Hollywood Boulevard. Letty endorsed our choice for lunch.
Barbara spotted Michael McDonald, the big star of Mad TV. Souvenirs of Hollywood has a great selection of Hollywood souvenirs. Judith and Mark of the Guinness World of Records.
We didn't see a single flag on the streets of Hollywood!  Just one red-white-blue fire hydrant. There weren't as many "adult" businesses as we expected. Boy were there a lot of show stores -- many selling really wild and crazy shoes.
Son Ryan's ticket office for Hollywood Tours -- see www.hollywoodtours.us Monster with man in cage...or man in cage with monster on his back. World's worst Elvis and a decent Marilyn Monroe may be blurry, but look how focused the man's hands are.
The only flag we could find in Hollywood was in an army surplus store. Hollywood has some people wandering around in costumes to get tips if you photograph them. Grauman's Chinese Theatre.
Carlos the security guard was assigned to keep us and others from seeing the handprints and footprints of the stars. All we could see of the handprints and footprints of the stars was this shot from the side with a zoom lens just before the carpet covered it all. Boz with candy for snacks in our specially chosen vantage point for the X-Men 2 Premiere.  Note the entrance to the theatre is directly behind Bozzie's head.
Our chosen vendor for candy while we stood for four hours waiting to see stars. Young boy dressed in X-Men comic book pages. Shannon was another security guard.  He didn't believe me when I told him Halle Berry asked us to meet her there.
We believe this is the anchor of one of the entertainment TV shows, Our view by 7:30 pm -- couldn't see a thing! Newscaster tapes a headshot.
We did manage to catch a glimpse of the cast of American Idol... ...and we got this photo of John Voight... ...but the rest of the stars were seen only on the Jumbotron.
Lunch at Skooby's. Dinner at Skooby's. John and Ben of Skooby's.

Hot dogs, fries, and lemonade.  Truly outstanding!   "The Producers" was playing at the Pantages Theatre.
